More about Jackets

How waterproof are these jackets?

Each model lists its exact waterproof rating on the product page. That number is the water column in millimeters (mm): the higher it is, the more snow and pressure the fabric takes before letting water through, and 10K is the usual benchmark for a full day out.

Do these jackets run big?

The relaxed models do, on purpose: the Ozzy, Brooks, Rafe and Riley are cut wide, so there's no need to size up. Want it closer to the body? The Bruce and Bodie run regular. Each product page lists the exact measurements.

What's the difference between a snowboard jacket and a ski jacket?

Fit, mostly. Snowboard jackets run longer and looser for more movement and more coverage when you're sitting in the snow, and ours lean that way. They still work for skiing, so choose on fit and look, not the label.

Can I wear it off the mountain?

Yes. They're cut to work on the street as well as the lift. One jacket, two lives.

How do I wash a snowboard jacket?

Cold, gentle cycle, inside out, with a technical detergent made for waterproof gear. Skip the fabric softener, it clogs the membrane, and keep it to about once a season. When water stops beading on the surface, it's time to reproof. Always check the care label.

How long does delivery take and can I return my order?

We ship to the Netherlands and Belgium, with more of Europe coming. Orders are sent with tracking, and delivery usually takes 1-3 business days. Shipping costs are shown at checkout.

Not happy with your order? You've got 30 days to send it back, unworn with tags on. More on our shipping and refund pages.

How do I find the right size?

Every product page has its own size guide with measurements. Check it for the piece you're looking at, and if you're between two sizes we'd size down. Still not sure? Reach out and we'll help you pick.

Can I see and try Capelin in a store?

Yes. Capelin is exclusively available to try in person at Duijvestein Winterstore. Come by to see the fit and feel before you buy, or order online and try at home. Find the store.

Snowboard and ski jackets for the ride and after

Capelin snowboard and ski jackets keep the weather out and look good enough to keep it on afterward. Every jacket runs its own take on the same idea: clean color blocking, relaxed fits and details that make sense on the mountain.

The lineup covers the whole spectrum. The Ozzy is the loudest, with a shorter cut and the busiest color blocking we make. The Brooks and Rafe keep the blocking composed, the Riley carries two oversized front pockets and the only purple in the collection, and the Bruce and Bodie stick to solid colors and a cleaner fit. Same job, different look.

They're all built to keep snow and wet weather out, with room underneath for a midlayer when the temperature drops. You'll find the exact waterproof rating and construction details on each product page. Most models run relaxed and wide, so take your normal size and check the size guide if you're in between.

The colors run through the whole collection. Pick a jacket and your pants, beanie and belt already match. And the price you see is the price it stays, from September to March. No flash sales, no games. Pick your colorway and build from there. You'll know when one's yours.
